I don't know what to say.

I'm in shock for sure. Having been a fan for such a short time (in hockey years) tonight was something I never thought I'd see.

A few notes (cmon, you didn't expect a glowing review, did you?):

What in the fuck is wrong with fucking Coburn? From where I was sitting, he couldn't keep the puck on his stick, turned it over five billion times, and couldn't clear the zone. He was the worst part of the game, and made it difficult for me to enjoy the game when I saw him on the ice.

The Richie SH goal was the funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Claude Giroux can not be taken off the puck.

I was stunned when Richie grabbed the trophy. But I guess it's all good. This team seems unjinxable.

They now make Michael Leighton t-shirts, bitches.

Flyers are going to get dismantled by the Hawks.

What the fuck is wrong with fucking Coburn?

The Habs fan in me felt really bad for the Habs after the empty net goal when the Habs just stayed down on the ice. They knew their goose was cooked.

Um, I'm sure there is more but I'm not exactly coherent right now!

I'd like to apologize in advance

I'm going to the game tonight. I'm wearing my Leighton jersey. This is a recipe for a Flyers loss. Sorry!

my favorite thought of the day

From Fran over at FGSB:

So tonight, Flyers fans, let's remember where we've been this year. Let's remember the tests, the questions and the doubts of the 2009-2010 season. Let's recall that with this team, nothing is over until it's over. Let's remind the Eastern Conference of who is boss. Let's show Philly how we celebrate our Flyers. Thanks for coming Montreal, now get the fuck out of my town.... So it's all right there, ready to be taken. Tonight, let's become the Prince of Wales. Let's Go Flyers.

Wait a second, you mean the Flyers don't automatically win every game?

I think that's what they thought. Or instead, maybe as Leighton said, "we expected to lose this one." They sure played like they expected to lose.

The Habs were freaking fast, and the Flyers were totally outplayed (again). Looks like their luck finally ran out, as Leighton turned back into a pumpkin and Halak finally regained his form from the previous series.

At least we have an exciting series on our hands. I know this game will bring (some) Flyers fans back to earth, and hopefully the Flyers too. It's almost as though they were starting to believe the hype about how good they were.

Either that, or the Halak shirt that arrived for me today jinxed them.

(I ordered it before the Flyers made it to the ECF, and quite frankly, I did not expect the Flyers to come back from 0-3 vs Boston. Remember, I am ye of little faith. A Halak shirt seemed like a good idea at the time. Seemed silly to walk around rooting for the Habs in my Kovalev shirt!)

I love you Michael Leighton

Okay, everyone, hands off. I saw Leighton first, and called dibs back in 2007. (The only other person who might have dibs is Hammer.) I have two Leighton jerseys to prove it. I ordered the first one while he was a Flyer in 2007, but he was already gone by the time it arrived. I loved him so much I bought a game worn Leighton jersey at the end of the 07 season. That's right: I bought the game worn jersey of a goalie who played 4 games for us that year. So you can share my love for Leighton, but I still have dibs.

As for the actual game tonight, uh, the Flyers pretty much stunk up the joint. They got lucky on the PP, and Leighton stole this one for them. In the second, they were skating like they had cement in their skates. It drives me crazy when they play like that. The Habs were certainly the better team tonight, but poor Jaro looks like he's lost his touch.

Does Price get the start next game, or, as Rod predicts, Jaro still gets the start because they are on home ice? After seeing Jaro fall into his own net and not get up, I say he's done. But that's just one dumbass' opinion.

And let me just say what a treat it was to watch an actual game from start to finish, including post game pressers. I think I've had to work for every game since game one of the Boston series!

Also, a reminder that it's just one game. Lots of hockey yet to be played folks!

it's just one game, alright?

And a game I didn't even get to watch. I mean sure, 6-0 sounds good, but what do I know? Were the Flyers really good or were the Habs really bad? I gotta start getting out of work earlier so I can see these games....

I feel a little dirty.

I mean look, I'd given up on the Flyers. Is it okay to root for them now? It feels like I'm jumping on the bandwagon. Isn't it better for the Flyers and their fans if I don't root for them? They stand a better chance without me on their side!

Wouldn't I be providing a useful service to the Flyers fans that I work with by rooting for the Habs? I can be there for them as a whipping boy after a Flyers loss. They are going to take their aggression out on me anyhow!

Having two teams is really not the best idea.

Oh shit.

Well this is an unfortunate turn of events for me. Habs beat the Pens and advance to conference final. I didn't think there was any way in hell that the Flyers would make it past the Broons. Yeah, I'm ye of little faith.

So for those of you who may be wondering, I will in fact be rooting for the Flyers, although I wish no ill will towards the Habs (at this point at least). If Kovalev was still a Hab, it might be a different story, but he's not, so I have to go with my two true loves, Leighton and The Pronger.

Gonna be a rough week.

Oh happy day!

Am I happy that the Habs won? You bet I am.

More importantly though, I am ecstatic that the Penguins lost. For me, a Pens loss is even better than a Flyers win. I am taking the Pensblogs' advice and "basking in their defeat."

I'm basking, baby!
